Little Cowboy

Last week, Maddox and I were at the Irvine Spectrum playing in the fountain, when someone from Kiddie Kandids came over and offered us a free sitting and a free 5x7. Of course, they want you to pay for more sittings and order a ton of photos, but I'm way too cheap for that.

GQ Hubby and a Monkey

Professor Kreil couldn't show up to school next month in the same clothes he's been wearing to work in a gym for so long! We had a great time on a mini shopping spree to get Jeff some professor-worthy clothes, and he looked so handsome, I made him take pictures for the world to see! Just look at his face ... you can tell he's thrilled to be turned into a dress up doll! He was a good sport through all the torture.

Maddox enjoyed tearing the house apart while Dad tried on clothes. Everyone has to have a talent, and destruction is just what he does best.

Evan James Hoggard

Baby Evan is here! He made his grand entrance into this world at 11:17 pm on July 6th (which also happened to be Nolan's 9th birthday)! Evan weighed a healthy 8 lbs 10 oz, and was the exact shade of pink we love to see!

First some more photos of all of us playing in Oregon ... then the baby stuff ...
Nolan and Abby spent a lot of time pushing Maddox around the house in this dump truck.

I dyed Mae's hair so Evan wouldn't know that his mom actually has gray hair, not brown! I wouldn't have posted this picture, except she expressly told me not to.
Mad and I found some colanders in the kitchen. We are so cool.
Abby helped Maddox read his new Wiggles book. (The Wiggles are very big around my house!)
He looks so grown up sitting there reading his book.
Welcome to the world, Evan!
Mandy, Ted and Evan with the doctor who was supposed to deliver the baby. (Evan decided to come so fast that the doctor was unavailable so a midwife delivered instead.)
A beaming proud aunt!
Happy birthday, Nolan ... and Evan!!
A little snuggling from a well practiced uncle.
Evan decided to open his eyes and give Uncle Jeff a little smile.

Splash

Jeff flew in to Oregon yesterday (just in time for our anniversary) and Marmie and Daddoo drove in yesterday too. We are still waiting on baby Evan, so today we killed some baby-waiting time by spending the afternoon at Splash, which is an indoor water park and wave pool. Everyone had a great time, and it sufficiently wore out the kiddos.

There won't be much more waiting on Evan because Mandy is scheduled for induction tomorrow night. We should have a baby in 24 hours or so!!! I joke about waiting a long time, but I have been incredibly blessed to be able to spend this time with Mandy and Ted. They are outstanding parents and I have learned a lot on this trip. Mandy is so patient with her kids, so she has been an example to me.

Marmie and Abby on the water slide. (Maddox also loved the water slide. He would come down with a huge smile on his face. As soon as we hit the water, he would point to the slide and say more!)
Dad and Mad splashing in the wave pool.
Our happy little family.

8 Years!

Jeff and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary! It seems like yesterday that we said our vows, and yet we have been through so much together. I can't express how much God has blessed me with Jeff as my husband. He is an unbelievable provider and spiritual leader for our family. In a very materialistic world, he has chosen to give up some of the comforts of the world so that I can stay home and be with Maddox full time. He works hard and prays hard. I can honestly say that Jeff never has an unkind word to say. I love you, Jeff. 8 years down ... 100 to go!
